missionary team - Bible baptist church from howell MI

Grace Oasis recently had the joy of welcoming a wonderful team from Bible Baptist Church Pine Summit in Howell, Michigan. Under the leadership of Pastor Tim Christoson and Nathan Carpenter, plus  a team of 13 members  spent a full week serving, building, encouraging, and pouring their hearts into the ministry here.

From the moment they arrived, their spirit of enthusiasm and willingness to serve was evident. Each morning the team began early and worked diligently throughout the day. Among them were contractors, a skilled tile installer, musicians, and many hardworking volunteers who were ready to do whatever was needed. Their work ethic was inspiring, and their attitude was even better.

One of the most significant accomplishments of the week was completing both the interior and exterior of a staff cabin that had been partially constructed and waiting to be finished. Thanks to their skill and dedication, the cabin is now beautifully completed. The quality of their workmanship was outstanding, with every detail completed to a very high standard. What once stood unfinished is now a comfortable and welcoming space that will serve staff and ministry needs for years to come.

Another tremendous contribution came in the form of custom-built storage. Anyone who has ever hosted large groups understands the challenge of storage, and Grace Oasis is no exception. As a facility capable of hosting up to 100 guests at a time, we must manage large quantities of blankets, sheets, pillows, towels, cookware, dishes, and kitchen equipment. Storage is not simply convenient—it is essential.

The team constructed massive cupboards for both the laundry room and the kitchen preparation area. These cupboards are sturdy, beautifully built, and incredibly practical. What was once a constant struggle to organize supplies has now become a manageable system. These cupboards are truly a blessing that will serve the ministry every single day.

But the impact of this team was not limited to construction projects.

The ladies on the team lovingly prepared and sewed special Easter gifts for the children, creating something meaningful that will bring joy and encouragement. One of the ladies also shared her beautiful voice by singing a solo during two church services, which deeply blessed the congregation.

Other members of the team participated in youth ministry and children’s programs, investing time and encouragement into the young people. Their willingness to serve in every area showed hearts that genuinely desire to help wherever there is a need.

One particularly special outreach opportunity took place when the team visited a large local school. There, they had the privilege of distributing copies of the New Testament to students, teachers, and staff. It was a meaningful moment of sharing God’s Word and bringing encouragement to many people in the community.

Throughout the week we also shared many heartfelt testimonies. Hearing how God is working in the lives of the team members and within their church was a powerful reminder of the unity believers share across nations and cultures. Those conversations were deeply encouraging and strengthened everyone involved.

Beyond the projects, programs, and outreach efforts, what stood out most was the heart of the team. Every person who came was kind, energetic, generous, and filled with a desire to serve the Lord. Their presence brought encouragement not only to the ministries of Grace Baptist Church but also to everyone who lives and works at Grace Oasis.

Weeks like this remind us how God brings His people together to accomplish great things. What could have taken months was completed in just a few days because of willing hands and faithful hearts.
